Snehan Therapy (Ayurvedic Oleation Therapy)

Snehan or Snehana is the traditional Ayurvedic oleation therapy, where medicated oils or ghee are applied externally or taken internally to lubricate the body and prepare it for deeper detoxification processes. It is one of the Purva Karma (pre-procedures) of Panchakarma and plays a crucial role in loosening toxins (ama) and balancing the doshas.

  • Bahya Snehan (External Oleation): Therapeutic massage with herbal oils to nourish and lubricate the skin, joints, and muscles.

  • Improves flexibility, reduces stiffness and dryness
  • Nourishes skin, joints, and muscles

  • Prepares body for Swedana (sudation) and Panchakarma detox therapies
